This competition started a tradition that is known today as the Ohio Association of Meat Processors "Product Competition". Meat processors enter their products not only for the prestigious awards they may take home with them, but also for an evaluation of their products by judges who are meat scientists and specialists in the meat industry. This evaluation provides information for product enhancement that could result in greater sales and business opportunities. Anyone who is a plant processor member of the Ohio Association of Meat Processors and produces their own products may enter the Product Competition.
